Shop Stool
Early in 2020's COVID-19 work-from-home period, I was assembling small partsĀ in a space I had set up in my apartment. Unfortunately, I had no chair that put me at a comfortable height to work at my table all day, and I found that different tasks were best done from different seating heights. I needed a sturdy seat with a quick, precise, and secure adjustment system, so I designed this wedge-based mechanism and a simple stool that utilized it and could be constructed with the resources I had on hand. I laid out my closet as a shop space, learned some hand tool technique, and built the piece in a few days.
Made from 2x4s and white oak
